Paul Dudak Leiter lives in Madison, Wisconsin with his wife, Emily and his Mississippi mutt, Rosebud. He lost his beloved Boxer, Buddha Bear, in 2019 and misses him every day.
He loves to day dream about weird ideas for his paintings, and to sit and stare at them while they are in progress.
He has been a FedEx delivery guy, personal trainer, and security dog handler.
But all he really wants to do is paint.
Paul uses oil paint on 2- by 4-foot hard boards.
They are big, like him.
He loves using knives, big texture, and weird tools to paint with like papers towels.
Paul says that meeting his wife, Emily in 2016 inspired him to start painting again.
He hides memories for her throughout all of his paintings.
Paul is also inspired by graffiti and graphic novels.
Paul made this funny-looking chair 10 years ago, trying his hand at carpentry.
He stuck with painting. But the funny-looking chair turned out to be the perfect easel.
This easel was made from an antique ladder.
It was made by his parents-in-law, Joe and Patty Dudak.
They are so supportive of Paul's painting.
This painter's cart was also made by Paul's parents-in-law, Joe and Patty Dudak, using different antique furniture elements.
